It's About Love

What's all the gold for? An attempt to express in a painting the radiant love between a mother and her child. I have been working on this one for a l o n g time, letting my imagination go wherever it wanted. Starting out I sort of wanted to achieve a Mary Cassatt look with some strong outlines. When I wanted it to be magical I followed the examples of Gustav Klimt. Cassatt meets Klimt. Who'd a thought? It's all about love.

Glad to see you are working and getting a few more blogs done. That seems to be the same mama and baby you did before. Nice job. If I don't comment again soon, Merry Christmas.

That's right, they do look the same! I just realized since you mentioned it, but no, one is my neighbor and her little girl and the other is my niece and her little boy. I did the little boy before as an angel. Thanks for checking my site Jean and a Merry Christmas to you!
