Here is a portrait of Ashley from the other night at the studio. It took about 3 hours and she was a wonderful and beautiful model. Didn't(even) blink once! I need to work on doing her better justice. It was a lot of fun and a lot of learning.
THANKS, Jeanne....she DID have some curly hair! I had fun with it. First I stroked the paint on sideways. Then I put the squiggly strokes on top in the direction they grow. I think the red color as a highlight was a mistake but I just left it.
Hay that's pretty nice. I cold never paint a live portrait. I have to work with pics to feel comfortable. But I can otherwise life draw with live models so long as its with a group of people. That way no one bats an eye.

What a great job you did, Donna! You captured the hair so well and the skin tones are gorgeous. I love the pose also.
